Dear All,
I am a Post grad student researching into the battle of the Aisne 27th May 6th June 1918 (mostly from the point of view of ground warfare). I would appreciate any help with regard to the Air battle over the Aisne during the above battle.
I believe the German airforce dominated the battle especially on the first day, having two 'flying circuses' in the area, Jadgeschwader I and III. However, I have no information regarding where these two formations flew from, how many aircraft these units comprised or the scope of their operations on the 27th May.
Similarly, I have some informformation regarding the fact that there were five addtional Jagdstaffeln (I would appreciate help with the terms) 14 Schlactstaffeln 23 Fligerabteilungen and 2 Bombengeschwader. Again, I would appreciate any help with the extent of these formation, their bases and operations on 27th May.
Regards
David
