I am led to believe the RFC may have bought a fair number of OX-5 engines from Curtiss during the war. As best as I can tell slightly less than 8,500 were produced up until November, 1918. Does anyone have any idea if- a) This is true? B) If so how many were purchased? c) What type of aircraft they may have been installed in? Perhaps these were bought to install in the Canadian built Jennies (Canucks)?
Thanks
