My Grandfather whilst serving in the RNAS served on these 2 ships. has anyone any further details please?he was stationed at Dover and Crystal Palace again any info.most welcome.

H.M.S Daedalus was what the navy call a stone frigate. That is a shore station. Opened or should that be launched on 1-4-1916 it was to become the biggest military airfield in the U.K.
It served the navy until the amalgamation of the RNAS and the RFC in 1918. It still operates today as the Royal Air Force College Cranwell.
During WW1 intial training was carried out at Crystal Palace before transfer to Cranwell.
