Fokker comet

Hi

In october 1918 a Fokker DVII flew with following markings: a white comet on the fuselage. The star of the comet had six long points. Does someone knows the pilot or Jasta. It flew in 4.A. region.

What else??

Hi Roser:
Is the fuselage painted additional colors. Oblt. Harald Auffarth, Jastaführer of Jasta 29 had his Fok.D.VII nose yellow to just in front of the cockpit and green rear fuselage and a white comet with three tails. How is this one marked?

Thanks

Nut I dont see a clear nose. The nose is inside a tent but it seems not to be of a bright colour. The pictures mentions Jagdstaffel bei Dendermonde (in Flandern an die Escaut (or Schelde in Flemish)river) and Gilbhardt 18 .

Hmmmmm?

Hi Roser:
I have found Dendermonde, it is twenty-six kilometers east of Gent, in the rear ara of the German 4. Armee. I was thinking this might be Jasta 29, which was located at Aertrycke at the end of October 1918, but Aertrycke is 70 Klm to the West of Dendermonde. Could you post the photo or send it to me at dansanabbott@sbcglobal.net, maybe seeing the Fok.D.VII will help to identify it. It might be a Marine Feld Jagdstaffel.
Blue skies Roser,
Dan-San

Hi
Thanks for the reply, but I don't think Js 29 was at aertrijke during October 1918. That region was than already under direct threat of the allied advance.

This is one of the several lacks of info we have on the WWI airwar. We still lack evidenses and because someone has misread a German text we keep staying in ignorance. I made a study on the German airfields by visiting German archives and found that all well structured German info on that month failed.
Because I possess no scan I can not send the picture.
But I've seen a drawing of Auffahrts plane: the star had 8 points. Mine only 6.
