Albatross C.IX

I am slowly compiling early German aircraft serial numbers. I have the serial number for Richthofen's Albatros C.IX, C.4508/16. Does anyone have the serials of the other two? Thank you in advance.

Hardly C.4508/16 because there is a batch of Ru. C.Ia (Han.) 4500:4599/16 (As III engines).
I have a note about Alb. C.IX 4509/17 with a D III engine No 33493.
Regards,
Yavor

Yavor,

Thank you for your reply. My source for the serial number is the online auction of a piece of wood claiming to be from this aircraft Aviation; Baron Von Richthofen, Albatros Wood Laminate Piece, 3 inch. [p4a.com, ltd.]. Admittedly not exactly a thoroughly documented source. Windsock Datafile 79 has the Rumpler C.Ia (Han) batch from 4600 to 4799/16. 4508 and 4509/17 could be correct as I have an empty batch of 53 from 4503 to 4555/17 between three prototype Hannover CL.II and a batch of 22 LVG C.V. I could send you a copy of my updated file (later than that on my website) for your perusal if you like. Thank you.

Thank you for the proposal, Roger!

I have a similar spreadsheet with records of serial numbers from various sources. It is always WiP but I can provide my current "best estimate". Send me a note through yavor.dinkov .AT. yahoo.com, please!

Some sources question the existence of the batch of Ru. C.Ia (Han) 4500 to 4599/16. At least one french source, however, provide description of a captured Rumpler C.4525/16.

Quote:
Regards,
Yavor

Am I correct in thinking that the the C. IX didn't take flight until 1917?

Jellytwig,

Grey and Thetford say that the aircraft was built in 1917. Hope this helps.
