Reference on Aerial Bombs

Can anyone suggest a print or on-line reference depicting the various types of aerial bombs used by (nearly) all sides in WWI? The reason why I ask is to check the accuracy of those that come with kits, and also to provide some documentation when I scratchbuild. I've run a search on this site and have encountered some specific instances, but haven't come across a general reference, unless I'm missing something. Thanks.

My Gallery
Which country?

Hi Parabellum:
This is a very large subject, and would consume a great deal of time. Could you please be specific, what country and which bomb(s)?

Thank you for your response. Pardon my naïveté on the scope of the matter. As my attentions are presently focused on the Gothas, I’ll start there. Reference suggestions appreciated. This would be to check on the accuracy of what's provided in kits, or to scratchbuild if necessary.

Hi,

I don't know where are the best reference to German Great War Bombs, but I'm also interested in Gotha armament. Have a G.IV in Polish markings. And I came up with few infos on that subject in the book: Adam Popiel, Uzbrojenie lotnictwa polskiego 1918-1939, Warsaw 1991:

The bomb stock are from bottom:

- 1 kg fragmentation "mause",
- 1 kg Incendiary "electron",
- 12,5 kg fragmentation PuW (Prufanstalt und Werft der Fliegertruppen),
- 20 kg fragmentation, old pattern - carbonite,
- 50 kg general purpose bomb PuW,
- 100 kg general purpose bomb PuW,
- 300 kg general purpose bomb PuW,

The aviators with bombs are of 21st Destroyer Squardon, equipped among others with one Gotha G.IV. They have from right:

- 300 kg general purpose bomb PuW,
- 100 kg general purpose bomb PuW,
- 20 kg fragmentation, old pattern - carbonite,
- 50 kg general purpose bomb PuW.

Hope that helps a little.

Many thanks for the recent responses, quite helpful, informative, and rather unexpected from what I thought they'd look like!
