Hello,
I have been getting interested in the postwar use of WW1 planes. I have been looking into possible modelling the Pfalz XV (postedabout this one in the Camouflage section) and/or Rumpler D.I. For this I am seeking pictures and/or information. I already have the Windsock Mini Datafile on the Rumpler but am still missing some pieces of the puzzle. It seems Udet flew a D.I together with
von Greim in an Airshow act, I have no idea though what plane this was. I am interested in the Rumpler D.I because it seems to have carried some colorfull schemes after the war but I have some questions in relation to some particular planes:
Rumpler D.I Registration: D-109 One picture in the Windsock datafile shows it finished in a dark color, does anybody know what color it was? Also two small logos on the tail, does anybody know what logos these were?
Rumpler D.I Registration: D-289 Also one picture in Windsock datafile. Might be same color as D-109, no logo's on the tail though.
Rumpler D.I Registration: D-288 Also one picture in Windsock datafile. I found a reference that Robert von Greim flew this plane? A search on the web gives a reference that this plane was painted silver with two red bands on the fuselage and black lettering (name of the person posting this was "volker", perhaps also a member here?) Also, in a picture listing on the web I found a referenc to a picture that was published in Over The Front. The issue is 4/1. Could somebody perhaps help me with this picture?
I am only interested in modelling one of the above, but don't seem to be able to get enough info together. I would be extremely interested in any info anybody might have on the postwar use of this little plane! Colors, pictures, info, anything! Many thanks in advance!
Kind regards,
Roel
