Immelmann Memorabilia

For all you Max Immelmann fans out there, the auction house Hermann Historica has some of his souvenirs for sale:

http://www.hermann-historica.com/

Auction starts on April 27th and ends on May 5th. Good luck.

Look at all the pretty silver objects......

regards,

Darren

One thing to add. For those looking for close-ups of these artifacts, you will have to wait. According to Hermann-Historica:

"Online-catalogues will be ready and accessible approx. mid of March, as usual with all descriptions, colour pictures and approx. 900 translations."

regards,

Darren

Wasn't it Thies who auctioned a load of Immelmann items four or five years ago? Then Helmut Weitze had a bunch of other items the family allegedly kept back for sentimental reasons. Now this. Perhaps the Chinese have found a new market!

Hello,

Winged Warrior beat me to posting that information.

I would like to add that the collection looks distinctly like one Hermann-Historica auctioned off a few years ago. I recall that one also including his EKII, some silver work (and perhaps a plate) as well as some documents. I have the feeling this collection is being sold again after just a few years - a bit odd if it's true.

Other items of note in this auction are: some uniforms and a smoking table (made from deer's antlers) all of which belonged to Hermann Göring, an official Zeppelin slide presentation and some commemorative items of Erwin Rommel (mementos of his time in carpathia in 1916 apparently).

Kind regards,

Reinout

Closeups needed !!!

Not sure that I remember if I saw it on this site but do remember reading, in much of the original Immelmann memorabila sale, the name on many of the documents and in particular the Ehrenbecher (first victory cup) was actually spelled Imelman and it was thought that much of the collection actual came from Hans Imelmann (6 victories, KIA Jan 23, 1917 - no relation) and thus while interesting, was extremely over valued. Does anyone remember seeing anything on this.
