Rodlauer

Hi All,

I'm new to this site and ended up here because I am looking for someone in particular, someone I have never met. This site came up from a Google search.

I purchased an M1 Carbine rifle several years ago that is marked "Bavaria Rural Police". This was used in the aftermath of WW2 for rural policing by the Germans themselves under the supervision of the Americans. On the buttstock of the rifle is a small strip of paper with the typed name "RODLAUER" taped to the right side.

The only Rodlauer, first name Alois, I know of was a WW1 German Ace from Austria who also fought in WW2. He died in 1975. I'm not sure if there is any connection to him and this rifle.

I am just starting my search, and this is my first post on this subject. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks
