Major Hellyer pops up again..?

Greetings all,

Back in 1995 I was toying with an idea I called the "Centipede Project", the notion that there is a distinct advantage to what I called 'synchronized rowing'.
Publishing the the idea on the web in 1996, I was told by 'knowledgeable experts' that the notion was quite mad, so thought it best to pretty much move on.
Then today, I came across this 1929 silent Pathe movie demonstrating almost exactly my proposed technique, devised by a 'Major Hellyer'.
I did a little digging on the web and came across this page on the forum. The time frame would fit, so would the possible interests of an ex-aviator who was a student of wind currents. Could it be the very same man? If so, he is a bloody genius!

I would appreciate any further information on this individual, if any such exists.
