Rumpler B.I Photo?

Hello All,

Currently on ebay at :

http://www.ebay.de/itm/Bruch-Flieger...item58bd7d8d65

is a photo of an aircraft identified by the seller as possibly a Rumpler with the serial B.393/

Can any one clearly identify the year of the serial shown from the photo?

I know B.393/14 was definitely a Rumpler B.I, but is B.393/15 also a possibility?

Regards,

Clint

It would be far easier to identify the serial number in a high resolution scan of the original, but this is all we have got ....

Doing some Photoshop tricks I come down on B.373/14, although I am not 100% sure about the third digit (the '3').

For your verification

This Rumpler B.I has side-ways blowing exhausts as most available pictures show that the engine exhaust gases are blown downwards with bend exhausts. As this sample was used as a trainer - likely somewhere in the homeland - it could be an in-the-field modification made as originals were not available.

Interesting picture, which shows the sturdiness of the fuselage of the Rumpler and their special fixing of the top wing to the fuselage. Not an inverted V construction but a sort of balcony construction.
