Hello sator. Besides being captured by American forces and hospitalized for wounds from flying into and out of Berlin, von Greim was despondent over the destruction of Germany once again following a world war and fearful of seeing his homeland undergo depredation such as that which followed WW I. At the time of his death, von Greim was a Generalfeldmarschall and head of the the now defunct Luftwaffe. Best regards, Dave.

Can you feel the warrior spirits gathering around us?
They have waited for us, my friend, they have waited for the coming
together of warriors from different times and different armies.
They wait to hear our words and laughter, to see our tears, and
feel our pain. It is all that remains for them . . . . . . .
to be remembered.
