I use one slightly smaller than the actual size so that the brass fits neatly together talking 0.1mm here.

Wingnuts say to use a 3mm drill bit, I did this for my HB W.29 build and it worked perfectly.

Thanks for the reply about the 3mm size. I did a rough calculation and came up with 1/8 inch based on a 103mm diameter I found referenced for the Spandau.
