Was thinking about a 1/12 scale SE5 with a TeeDee o49 w/throttle. Too much power? I'm an old freeflighter and tend to build light. Have been flying a Goldberg Wizard (cl trainer - 049) on 52 ft lines and its a kick! Did a loop on first flight! Like riding a bike.
Control line is alive and well here in the central valley. Most of the crew working on th Spirit of St Louis repro are die hard ukie guys!

I'm far from an expert on the technical aspects of CL, but from the posts in the other CL thread, it's the very small WWI CL planes that seem to fly poorly. Perhaps something bigger might fare better.

Glad to hear that CL is alive and well in your neck of the woods. In my area, I haven't seen CL flown outside of an exhibition in about 20 years. If you hear the roar of a two-stroke around here, it's somebody's chainsaw or leaf blower.

Yet the CL planes, both balsa and plastic, move pretty fast in the shops. Somebody must be flying them somewhere.
