Hi,
Very misleading isn't it ?
I read that the Albatros DIII planes of Seefrontstaffel Neumunster were equipped with airbags in october 1917. 8)
Of course not the airbags as we know them today, but real bags with air, this because they had to protect seaplanes during their missions over the sea and the fact that they had a higher risk of doing a forced landing on the water.
I had never heard of it, and the most logical place to put the thing was in the fuselage. Where there also such things done on the Allied side ? RNAS,... ?
