Central Powers' answer to Michael's Challenge

Here's the Central Powers' answer to Michael's challenge. Allow me to present, in 1/72, the Siemens-Schuckert Monoplane. I got this idea way back during the 'Alternative Squadron Markings' thread. I tried to imagine something that could compete with the famous Fokker D VIII 'Flying Razor'. I built this primarily from the remains of the 1/72 Revell Nieuport 28. The ailerons and elevators were scratched from plastic card as was the rudder. The prop was left over from a 1/72 Czech Aero biplane and I can't remember for the life of me where I swiped the landing gear from. The "lozenge" is hand painted and the "Royal Order of Bavaria Cross" on the cowling is modified with blue pen from 1/144 pre-W.W. II Bulgarian roundels. I was going for something resembling the Blue Max but missed. Hope you enjoy this little bit of Central Powers' Great War whiffery.

I like it Brian. I think I might be able to add something to this mix someday. I have all the stuff I need. I only wait for the muse to strike!

I'm glad you like John! Here's a couple more shots...hopefully better ones.

Looks like it could be the parasol used at the end of "The Blue Max" movie!

Hmmm Dave perhaps that was the subconscious inspiration...
