What plane is this ?

Hi,

We're trying to ID an airplane on a Dutch forum concerning WW I. I think it is an LVG CI, and in fact a plane from a flying school, the photo was taken in 1915. The man asking the question is a Dutch WW I author.
Can anyone confirm or help ?

This is the link :

Thanks and best from Johan

I think you're correct.
LVG B.I or maybe B.II.
I think the wingspan is the only real difference.
The 'fold' in the ailerons gives all early LVG two seaters away.

Great pictures.

Sandy,

Thank you very much, it seems there were even differences in the planes due to the factory producing them, and it's even more difficult as the C series are in fact a modified B series...

Lvg???

Regulus:
The LVG.B.I had a nose skid forward of the landing gear. This machine it appears, does not have the nose skid, then it is a LVG.B.II.The broad black band under the wings is the Fliegertruppe pre-war national marking.

Dan-San,

Thank you very much for your reaction. I should have been a little more clear, and not expect that everybody speaks dutch...

In fact the ID concerns only the top photograph, the others were added by members of the forum to make the comparison.

Could you please take a look again to the top photograph of the thread ?

Sincere thanks and best from Johan

Lvg B.???

Regulus:
I have studied the Peter M.Grosz Datafile No.98, LVG.B.I. The top photograph is a LVG.B.I, it is illustrated on page 9, photo 26.
