Clearly , it seems , he was not wounded in the crash , and he is seen quite happy in the photo of him sitting on the wreck of his DIIIa .
His name may have been spelled with " o " ,...or with " u " ,... this depends on the source , ....but who has spelled it correctly , simple can not known for sure .
The writing on the back of the postcard states :- "Kampfstaffel" 64 ..." II " ,... indicates perhaps , that someone , other than the pilot himself ,.. has written the post card ,...& therefore , possibly the name spelling here with a " u " is likely the error .
Therefor the KRL spelling seems more likely the correct name .
However ,...we cannot be 100% sure , unless there are found , other documents (such as signed photos etc.) ,.. which are " independent" of either of these two sources .. (back of Postcard or KRL . ),...which show the spelling of his name .
Either way ,....it is the same person .
