there is a french pilot that was jewish and an ace
Sous Lieutenant jacques Louis Ehrlich
he will start the war as an infantryman then join the aviation after a serious injury he will start scoring with spa154
He got 19 victories (1 less than Frankl) all but one balloon
He get most of his victories (about 15 out of 19) in colaboration (mainly with Coiffard)
he was born the 5h october 1893
he first spend a year with N124 before being wounded during a strafing mission, back to the squadron about one year latter
after at serious accident with Waddington (he rammed into his companion spad) he was send in leave for one month
on the 18 sep after a last balloon victory he was shoot down and spend the rest of the war as a POW
If we consider than Frankl had converted to catholism (to able to marry his loved one) Ehrlich is the higest practising jewish ace of ww1 (and maybe of all time)
there was quite a few jewish pilot in the french aviation (in fact the proportion of jewish pilot in the aviation was higher than in the general population)
for some reason most of them were serving in the observation unit (more because of a social background)
