All,
I breathe a sigh of relief that I'm not the only one that can't put a finger on MvR, the man.
One the one hand:
1) Weird, childish occupation with trophies
2) The '15 minutes' of satisfaction after a victory (by his own admission in his memoir).
3) Anecdotes of victim's photos (post mortem) carried in his pocket..
On the other:
1) Good, perhaps great leader
2) Loyal soldier in the face of worsening odds
3) Accomplished flyer and fighter
So, the question:
What is your opinion of his character and motiviation, and upon what is it based?
Do you believe he changely greatly as an individual over time (including after his head wound)?
Why do you think so?
Thanks and regards,
Georges
