a British Intelligence summary of August 1916 it was reported that belts of 500 rounds were said to have been found on some Fokkers

Immelmann reported about his first victories with early Fokker E´s numbers of 400, 450, 500 rounds used to shot down a single enemy aircraft. For the Fokker E.IV (2 MG) Immelmann mentions one victory with 700 rounds used and Boelcke reported about an aircombat with 800 bullets spent. No mention of lack of ammo in both cases. So, it seems 500 per gun was the normal number for both men (and probably for other Fokker E pilots too) in 1915/16.
