WGNT has some very good Paint referecne charts in the very begining of their instruciton booklets. They reference 3 manufactuers I think including (MK) Misterkit's Acrylic WWI line of colors.
MK are avaialble directly from Italy or in the US from their US Distributor (me) at
W.W.I ACFT COLOR.
Misterkit's line was originaly developed and has been in production since 1987. WhaT ? you Say ? You NEVER HEarda them before ?
Well if a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it does it make a sound ?
Not suprising, becuase it primarly has been a european market product but somewhat known amoung Windsock Interantional readers and some very old school Hard Core WWI's.
They have been recognized has having a very well reserched and documented line of shades. Of course in WWI colors there always has been and will be controversy and differning opinons on shading etc. However in some cases Liek PC10 and PC 12 (Pigmented Cellulose) Dope where there were so many variing shades due to local supply and numerous manufactuers and in some cases Field repair mixed applications, MK deliberately choose a compromise which best represents the best aproximation.
There have been a few MK Reviews on even by our own Stephen Lawson
AeroScale :: Built Review: MisterKit acrylics by Stephen T. Lawson
Mister Kit British paints, reviewed by Scott Van Aken
MisterKit WW1 Paints
Sopwith Camel by John Turner (Revell 1/28)
MK's British Topside Colors can also be used as base coats and or colors form which to scale or shade.
However MK also produces 8 different shades of Clear Doped Linen and Britsh NIght Fighter (NIVO Night invisable Odiferous) and Tropcial Red Brown Britsh Topside colors.
