That is rather a question for Harry C. Redner (Luftschiff-Harry). He could know the answers. Donīt know if he is looking at this website.
It is hard to give the right numbers because the airship commanders and crews did often remove MGs. They could increase the weight of bombs or other load on this way. As well MG-fire was also a bit risky for the own ship.
However, one website reports the use of 10 (the highest number I have ever seen) MG 08/15 with shortened barrel and water-cooled for L30 aka LZ 62.
I have also seen photographs with different kinds of lighter Flieger-MG, often with the amazing big open drum. The 20-mm-Kanone Becker was already mentioned but I donīt know if this weapon was ever used in active service by German airships.
MG-Positions were in the gondolas and on the upper and the tail platform. So every number between 0 and 10 seems to be possible and this number could change from one flight to the next.
At least we know the Afrikaluftschiff transported a load including 30 MG for Lettow-Vorbeck.
