Well, I guess I have to settle for the old Finnish two volume history by Lt.Col. Hannula. He writes the way I like. He does not spare his criticism of Austria-Hungary whom he considers both arrogant and inept. The Serbian response to AH´s ultimatum he desrcibes as a masterpiece of diplomacy. He halso comments that no nation of slightest self respect could bow to Austo-Hungarian demands like those imposed on Serbs. He also rates Serbians as excellent and brave soldiers. On the other hand, he despises "Eyeties" (Italians) whose war effort he describes as like robber gang jumping to share the spoils. I agree.

He describes Allied propaganda as bestial, as something that appeals to the lowest instincts of man. Interestingly, one may draw interesting parallels in Soviet and American propaganda in WW Two. Both are bloodthirsty and appeal to the beast in man. E.g. the difference to Finnish wartime propaganda is huge, even to Winter War period stuff.
