A post script- short time after it was finished, some friends were visiting and their kid goes over and picks it up from the shelf where it was contentedly grazing among the dust particles. He looks it over, then slams it back down, obliterating the landing gear- I don't know where the tail skid and associated support members went. I managed to repair it, and then it sold for nice little lump.

Hey, Robert:
I hate to hear about one of your models getting slammed, after all the work you put into'em...what ever happened to the kid? Tell the folks here in the Aerodrome about one of your uncles years ago that almost caused a slight calamity with one of your sculptures. Thats why my models have such a short self life!
