One of my very first models was a K&B boxed Breguet 14, with the vac-formed display base...even at 7 or so, I realised that models weren't supposed to have quite
that many glue-y fingerprints.
About the same time I got the E.III (Aurora?, K&B?), it was a much more satisfactory build for my childhood self; the prop rotated freely.
I'd give it a good blast of breath to put it to bed, "revving it up" and then letting it "idle" before shutting it down for the night.
