Dear Rick and Gunnar

I have checked the sources again and Zeki's observer is not mentioned. Neither is the type of aircraft Zeki was flying. This despite the fact that 2/Lt Makins recovered substantial pieces of the plane (by camel!)

However he does mention an Austrian Sergeant-Pilot called SOUSIN. He was being sent to Ma'an to pilot the Albatross scout. Do you have any records of this guy?

Some additional info. on Zeki:

He learnt to fly at St Stephano in 1915 and went to Berlin for further instruction. His course there lasted 7 months.
He had been instructing at Istanbul for 4 months.
