Ansaldo A.1 Balilla repro - Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome
 

Hello all,
We are seeking drawings or dimensions of Ansaldo A.1 interplane and cabane struts for Cole Palen's Ansaldo reproduction that was started in the 1980s. We have some of Cole's and Andy Keefe's sketches and a copy of the Polish Ansaldo manual, but no strut dimensions.

I have a small image of a tracing of an original Ansaldo drawing that Colin Owers did...were there other drawings? Would like to get a better copy of Colin's drawing too.

Have you tried contacting the Caproni Museum in Trento? They have an original A.1 (or, at least, most of one).

Hello Albrecht...Thank you for the contact information. I appreciate it.

Regarding the engine, the Ansaldo was traded a few years back (around 2005 or so) from the Aerodrome collection. Soon afterward, the engine was sold, so when we arranged to get the aircraft back into the collection the engine was unfortunately no longer with it.
