pfalz d111 throttle
hello......can anyone tell how the throttle worked on the pfalz d111. i have the windsock number 7 showing a detail drawing. what i donot understasnd it shows bowen cables going from the carbuettor to the stick how did they hook up to the stick it also shows a throttle rod what did that hook up to also how did the pilot wook the throttle? thank you....tom555

I have to say this only from memory as I shall not conveniently be able to gain access to my documents at this time .
Throttle cables go to what is just like a motor cycle "Twist Grip" on the left side . The central position 2 MG trigger cables are separate . (I do not have here the book you mention to hand ). I suspect the rod you did mention is the rod to operate the emergency throttle on the left upper cockpit side of the cockpit which may engage fixing to the carburettor linkage when pushed forward , and is used to make closing the throttle possible if the cable/s did break ... similar as other in line motors ,..(the rotary system most used in machines is a little bit different but still often it is a rod ) . |
