Hi, I am new to the forum but I am researching Captain William Roy Irwin of the 56th Squadron. He was an ace from my grandfather's (also a veteran of WW1) home town of Ripley Ontario Canada. We are building an SE5a in the colours of B'35 which Irwin flew. We have received help from Mr. Revell and his book High In The Empty Blue. Our group would like to due a suitable painting/print of the aircraft and any ideas would be most welcomed.

Well I'm not sure it counts as research but I'm hoping to build a couple of websites that will help others with their own. First off I'm hoping to help Joe Gertler (I hope he doesn't mind me mentioning this) set up his own site. I've done a fair amount on this, but stopped temporarily due to other commitments.

Secondly I'm going to try and get my own site going properly which will be an online repository of pre-1945 magazines, documents, books, photos, etc. I'm steadily scanning stuff in and OCRing it (so that the text will be searchable), most of the first lot will be probably be WW2 related but over time the bulk of it will be WW1 once I get it scanned in. My workplace has a photocopier that will do greyscale scans up to 600dpi - at the same speed as normal photocopying apparently, which is much, much faster than the way I've been doing it! Plus the higher resolution will make the OCRing more reliable.

For me, French Sopwith Strutters, especially in regards to the new evidence that the single-color machines were aluminum-doped, and not CDL.

So, if anyone has items that haven't seen the light of day IRT French Strutters, I would appreciate any and all help.

More research on Cousin Antonin Gauthier of SPA 80. I'd like to locate his grave. I have a photo of it, covered with wreaths from his squadron, but don't know its location.

Ideally I'd like to get a current photo to match it.

I will be concentrating on finishing the my part of the book that Rick Duiven and I are working on about the Schusta and Schlasta.
I have one more line drawing of the Han.CL.III and CL.IIIa to do, then the MG, bombs and engines and the line drawings will be finished. Then all the color plates. I am planning to be completely finished by the end of June 3003. Rick take note.
btwm got the books.
I will continue my general research on the Luft- streitkräfte.

Personally continuing the research on the Flanders units. Bringing out another photobook on the German naval air service, and a few on other aerodromes of the northern part of West Flanders and a new edition of the book on the Marinekorps Flandern. If any time over it will go to the Englandgeschwader.
And of course there still is an article to be written about the 13th August 1918 attack by the 17th US at Jabbeke aerodrome with Stephen.
That should keep me busy.
Btw I'm very curious to see the book of Rick and Dan-San on the Schusta-Schlasta's !
