Have I been asleep or something?

Has anyone else seen that Wingnuts has a Snipe in the works? I just checked their News Page for the first time in a while and lo and behold at the bottom past all the pretty pictures their list their new models in development:

Sopwith Triplane (old news? I don't recall this from before...)
Fokker D.VII (old news)
FE2.b (old news)
Fokker E.II/III (old news)
Sopwith Snipe (OMGWTFBBQ! Yay!)
DH.2 (old news)

Very few subjects are bench-clearers for me (i.e. shelve whatever is on the bench at the time), but a WnW Snipe would definitely be one of them.

I can't wait!

Cheers,
Tony

Howdy,

I'm with you. Other than a Phalz D-VIII and a Sopwith Camel, the Snipe would be at the top of my list of must haves in 1/32. Was saving my pennies for a Tamiya P-51D, but now I have something to really look forward to.

p.s. I wonder what the "surprises" are?

Yeah, Tony, I'm with you on this one, as well. (OMGWTFBBQ?) Being a died-in-the-wool 1/48 scale guy, the only WNW kit I have is the Ninak and that's only because there are no 1/48 scale kits of this plane. I would definately make room on the shelf for a Snipe, however.
,
Bud

Yes, you were napping a bit, see the Wingnut Wings New Releases thread elsewhere in this section.

I see what you are saying Tony.

At one point we had "worked out" a list of 32(?) current or forthcoming kits, based on WNW website, kit catalogue numbers, snippets of test shots taken by guys in NZ and hints etc. gleaned from the pages of Windsock's various issues on the company.

I don't remember the Sopwith Triplane or the Snipe being suggested in that list at all.

I can't remember who deduced the list, perhaps Dan-san? Perhaps not. It was quite a while ago.

Does anyone have it?

Up to now, I figured that the last kit I'd buy (given the extent of my plastic insulation) would be the D-VII. But if WNW puts out a Snipe, I'll order it in a heartbeat. Reason? Simple: Barker, Victoria Cross, October 1918. There's no way in the world I'd miss that opportunity! :D

Yup, Barker's Snipe would be my choice as well. Have you been to the war museum in Ottawa to see the fuselage?

I'll also be doing Collishaw's Tripehound when it's released, just to keep the Canadian theme going.

I think that when the Snipe is released we'll be seeing an awful lot of Billy Barker Snipes. I hope we don't see tham all here as WIPs, though. Except for you, Tony. You being Canadian and all, and a master modeler at that.
,
Bud

Actually, now that I think on it, the Collishaw Triplane just might also grace my display cabinet. Hmmm...maybe time to cull the herd a bit more...! :D

Yes, I've seen the Barker fuselage many times over the years. I'm just a couple of hours from there. Nothing like having the real thing as a reference! :goggles:

Hey, c'mon, Bud: what about us other Canadians? Heck, I even make my tea with maple leaves! :D

But you might have a point: leave room for the Master Modellers, while we merely "comfortably competent" builders toil into the night...! :work: :book: :camera: :scientist: (Just funnin' ya!)
