Thanks for the support and good recommendations ALL !!
Martin My apologies, yes I ve reveied your order request 2day ago onthe 15th. I am home now and should have you order packed and invocied for you by the end of the week. I'll make an effort to bump it up. Albe is very correct, Iam afraid in addtion to being an sole owner, like Bobby Buckles I am the Sole Employee too ! :( (It's going to be at least 5 more years before the kids are old enough to fill, pack and invoice orders.) I've been operating for at least 6years now since Late 2003/early2004. It was at a time Rosemont Hobbies the Last point of order hobby shop in the U.S. was dropping the MK line all togehter and I had just recently discovered them with my passion for modeling. Sickened that their products would become even more obsure to the US market and WWI modeling I took up the mantle to work with Giorgio of MK in Rozzano, Italy to import them. Basicly which is were ALL of the commerical viabilty of the line disappears and why they are NOT widely distributed and retailed by the mainstream hobby market. The Cost of import, shipping, bottleing, Euro/$ exchange etc, costs are so high when translated to the individual unit of paint they far out strip what any modeler would pay for a bottle of hobby paint. Like WAL-Mart the Mainstream Hobby Market runs off of huge mark up where they require the lowest possible wholesale price in order to buy and retail them at huge mark ups. You never are exposed to this as the consumer except for the Discounts you see during huge one-time sales where retail prices are slashed by 40% or more. Trust me they are still covering the cost of thier product. Another stike against me is I have a low sales volume and hence ussualy just make the minum ordering requirments to make wholesale puurcahses. Bigger Buyers get deeper discounts which go a long way to covering international shipping charges. I can not. SO Ive have been operating on a almost a volunteer margin which barley covers costs. I have a regualr job to suppor the family and pay the bills so I can afford to do that. Why ? Well I ask that myself form time to time. BUT then something new comes out and i ma inspired agian. I love the hobby. SO I do it on the side to bring some things which would normaly be retailed here and to share what savings I can with fellow kindered modelers like myself. I have found some good in this as some well established and major hobby stores in this Era have taken notice and kept some of their Kit prices in check to match mine. This benefits all of us. The Pricing for Newly Release Roden kits for awhile back then before WNW were soaring past $65 an issue from Squadron. Now they more resonable. I ve taken a big hit this year with the general ecomonic malise that has hit us all, but also on a personal note as there has been a loss in the family this summer. My Fmaily responsibites have tripled since then as I struggle to look after the affairs of more future dependents. Work is insane as they have aggreed to a long term contract for less forcing me into longer over-tme hours to earn the same pay check I have already had. This is bad for you and the buisness and more work for me means more days away from my house and even busier days off when I am home. AS I constantly travel for work. I Really would like to thank all of you who have had patinece to work withme and recieve your orders. I releazie it is the opposite of doing buisness with a fully staffed and profitable Hobby Webstore with automatic shopping carts and shipping departments etc. where you can simply "Click-N-Purchase-N-Ship" without ever corresponding with anyone from the store. Whcih makes me appreciate even more all of you who have been willing to order anyway from me. Aside Note: If for any reason your modeling needs are more immediate than I am able to serve you. MK of Italy sells them. Thier packaing and pricing is differrent but they will serve you from overseas. Their has been a small stock of MK over some 7 years old now which oringaly made its way from Rosemont Hobby store to Pacific coast hobbies but it is a limited amount. For freasher stock it would be best to order them direct form Italy if I am too slow. My Apoliges with the site as well. IN an effort to improve it last year, after a computer crash which destoryed my web page files. I started from srcatch to re-write it with new software I bought form an office supply store. Why did I do that ? After I was finsihed the re-write and it was time to up-load it I learned then the software was out of date and no longer supported and did not automaticly up-load like it was supposed to. Stuck some Web Host technician's helped Manually upload the new pages of the site. All of which has near been lost int he translation. The orginal Home page never loads what you are seeeing when it comes up is the Second page of the Misterkit line teh German Color Page. I have left it up because at least some of the menu buttons are working and if you are inquistive enough you cna get around the site somewhat. A full re-write using the Orgianal Safe Software has been in Prgress ever since. Iam 60% finsihed with it and as soon as it is psoted the site will be fully fuctional again and I will be able to regually update it to annouce hte avialalbity of new products like Nomega-Vector 1/32 Resin Engines, which I have in stock. Check the Classified ads here search "Vector" Yours Mike ;) |
Thanks for the update, Mike. I have had no problem navigating around your site. And thanks again for doing what you do.
, Bud |
Thanks again Mike, using your Misterkit German Clear Doped Linen on a Fokker E.III that I'm working on now. any chance of importing the 1/48 scale Vector engines? I have seen them but they are very expensive through most regular hobby retailers.
Thanks Dave |
