Hello

Near Papensholm in morning of October 12, 1917 a german C-type aircraft and german seaplane claimed 3 russian flying boats.
Which planes, pilots and units were involved?
cheers Jeroen

Jeroen, I have no Russian losses on that date near Papengolm. What is your source??? August

jeroen 23 February 2006 09:37 AM

russian losses

Sorry August
the date should read 12.10.1917 not 01.12.1917, maybe that solves the problem.cheers.jeroen

Hi Jeroen

Who is the author to this book/article...?

Two of the victories were claimed by Lt zS Schulz while the third was claimed by the team Henrici and Stangen...

Does anyone have the first name of Henrici...??

:)
Gunnar

Gunnar, if it's the same man, and I believe it is, his first name was Werner. He died on 27Apr18 at Apenrade. R.

Hi Rick and thanks...:)

He is probably the same man, the only problem is that Eberhardt gives his rank as FlugzeugOberMatrose...

Either Eberhardt has made a typo or "Werner" had done some "stupid" action and had lost two ranks...!?

The victorius Henrici was Flugmaat already on 19 May 17 when he received the Seefliegerabzeichen.....and when receiving the Ehrenpreis on 7 Jan 18 he is listed ad FlugOberMaat...

I agree, however there isn't all that much difference in the abbreviation for Maat and Matrose. (Mt. vs. Mtr.). I suspect the type setter just wasn't very careful. R.
